::: Beta Coefficient :::

The beta coefficient is a key parameter in the capital asset pricing model (CAPM). It measures the part of the asset's statistical variance that cannot be removed by the diversification provided by the portfolio of many risky assets, because of the correlation of its returns with the returns of the other assets that are in the portfolio. Beta can be estimated for individual companies using regression analysis against a stock market index. This tool provides individual companies beta coefficient.

Beta interpretation

B < 0 The stock moves contrary to the market in an inverse relationship. As the market increases, the value of this stock is expected to decrease. While this relationship theoretically exists, few stocks possess a negative beta. One example of an investment with negative beta is gold.
B = 0 The stock’s returns are unrelated to market moves.
0 < B < 1 The stock is expected to move more slowly than the market. If the market rises, this stock should also rise but not as drastically as the market; likewise if the market falls, this stock is expected to be less volatile than the mark.
B = 1 The stock should move in a manner very similar to the market as a whole.
B > 1 The stock has proven over time to be more volatile than the market. As the market rises, this stock should rise at a higher rate. Likewise, a more severe loss is anticipated in the event the market falls.

NOTE:

  • "Weekly Closing Index" has been taken from the same day in which the share traded.
  • Absence period of trading of particular share has been ignored.
  • Price of Shares at OTC market has been taken from last traded day closing price.

::: Sector Beta :::

Beta calculation shows individual sector with overall sector wise performance. It calculates as like as Beta interpretation. By this tool you can easily measurement the market risk of a sector. By watching sector beta it helps you diversify from one share to another share.

Assumption:

  • Particular script's weight has been calculated through their market cap. So number of securities and current closing price will be updated time to time.
  • Particular script's beta has been calculated by dividing the Covariance between stock return and market return by Variance of market return.
  • Some sector has single script so the scrotal beta will be the script's beta.

::: Sector P/E :::

A sector PE is a PE ratio for a whole sector rather than an individual company. A market PE is the same for an entire market. A sector or market PE is: market cap/profit where market cap is the total market capitalization of all companies in the sector or market and profit is the total bottom line profit of all companies in the sector or market. Sector PE is used to compare a company to its sector, a company to market as a whole or a particular sector to the market.

::: Category P/E :::

Category P/E gives you individual P/E calculation of category basis like A, B, N and Z. By this tool you can easily to take decision what category of share investment is good or bad. P/E means market price divided by earning per share. High or Low P/E positive or negative, it depends on its business nature.

::: Dividend Yield :::

Dividend yield is a market based investment ratio which explains how much a company pays in dividends each year relative to its share price. In other words, it is a way to measure the cash flow the investor is getting for their investment. This is calculated by dividing annual dividend per share by market price of the share. The formula for the calculation is as follows:

Companies provide the return to their investors in the form of capital gain or dividend. In the absence of capital gain the dividend would be the return on investment. Well-established companies tend to provide higher dividend than young and more volatile companies.

High value of dividend yield demonstrates that the stock is underpriced (share price is less than its real value) whereas low dividend yield indicates that the share is overpriced (share price is more than its real value). Therefore, a company with the higher dividend yield may be a good investment for the investors as it provides the positive signal to market about its financial strength and shareholder value. Moreover, Investors who prefer dividends over capital gains require a high and consistent dividend yield.

On the other hand, a company with lower dividend yield does not necessarily mean that the company does not have the sufficient fund to provide the dividend. The Company may retain the dividends to reinvest in the profitable investments without providing to investors since it is experiencing higher growth. Hence, though they are paying lesser dividend in present, the share price would increase in the future.

Comparing dividend yield pattern over the periods can provide better insight to the consistency of dividend paid by the company. When making an investment decision using a dividend, dividend payout ratio, dividend cover and company's future growth aspects should also be considered along with dividend yield.

Here by this tool it provides the individual company’s payout ratio with dividend yield calculation data updated at real time to time.

::: Required Rate of Return :::

The minimum annual percentage earned by an investment that will induce individuals or companies to put money into a particular security or project. The required rate of return (RRR) is used in both equity valuation and in corporate finance.

For example, if a person buys a stock, that person may desire a required rate of return of 10% per year. The investor's reasoning is that if he or she does not receive 10% return, he or she would be better off paying down an outstanding mortgage on which he or she is paying 10% interest.

::: Technical Chart :::

Technical analysis is a method of evaluating securities by analyzing the statistics generated by market activity, such as past prices and volume. Technical analysts do not attempt to measure a security's intrinsic value, but instead use charts and other tools to identify patterns that can suggest future activity. Just as there are many investment styles on the fundamental side, there are also many different types of technical traders. Some rely on chart patterns; others use technical indicators and oscillators, and most use some combination of the two. In any case, technical analysts' exclusive use of historical price and volume data is what separates them from their fundamental counterparts. Unlike fundamental analysts, technical analysts don't care whether a stock is undervalued - the only thing that matters is a security's past trading data and what information this data can provide about where the security might move in the future.

The field of technical analysis is based on three assumptions:

  • The market discounts everything
  • Price moves in trends
  • History tends to repeat itself

::: What is Portfolio :::

Portfolio as the word suggests is a collection. In the share market context it is a diverse collection of stocks. If you are keen to minimize your risk then you should ideally maintain a collection of stocks in a variety of industries that has opposing earning characteristics. As such the prices of all your stocks would not move in the same direction and if the price of one fall another will rise and net off your position. This is called diversification.

This tool provides you, total facility of portfolio management with existing share. By this portfolio, you can measure easily risk calculation, fundamental ratio, real time portfolio performance with existing holding, realized gain/loss and also portfolio setting by own. Also watch list provides you to watch company’s performance.

It provides Portfolio Variance, Standard Deviation of Portfolio, Portfolio Beta, Expected Portfolio Return, Performance Measurement Ratio (Sharp Measure, Jensen Measure(Alpha), Trey nor Measure) calculation.

If all measurement is positive, portfolio positive and if negative it is risk able.

Sharpe Ratio:
The Sharpe ratio tells us whether a portfolio's returns are due to smart investment decisions or a result of excess risk. This measurement is very useful because although one portfolio or fund can reap higher returns than its peers, it is only a good investment if those higher returns do not come with too much additional risk. The greater a portfolio's Sharpe ratio, the better its risk -adjusted performance has been. A negative Sharpe ratio indicates that a risk-less asset would perform better than the security being analyzed.

Jensen's Measure:
A risk-adjusted performance measure, the average return on a portfolio over and above that predicted by the capital asset pricing model (CAPM), given the portfolio's beta and the average market return. This is the portfolio's alpha. In fact, the concept is sometimes referred to as "Jensen's alpha."

The basic idea is that to analyze the performance of an investment manager you must look not only at the overall return of a portfolio, but also at the risk of that portfolio. For example, if there are two mutual funds that both have a 12% return, a rational investor will want the fund that is less risky. Jensen's measure is one of the ways to help determine if a portfolio is earning the proper return for its level of risk. If the value is positive, then the portfolio is earning excess returns.

Treynor Ratio:
This ratio measures returns earned in excess of that which could have been earned on a riskless investment per each unit of market risk. The Treynor ratio is a risk-adjusted measure of return based on systematic risk. It is similar to the Sharpe ratio, with the difference being that the Treynor ratio uses beta as the measurement of volatility. Also it is known as the "reward-to-volatility ratio".
